The 2011 Cox Plate was the 89^th running of one of Australia’s premier thoroughbred races,the country’s richest weight-for-age showdown of the year.

Conducted at the scenic Moonee Valley Racecourse in Melbourne during the annual Victorian Spring Racing Carnival, the Cox Plate is an elite Group 1 race for horses aged three years and upwards and is a staying event run over 2,040m.

Hosted by the Moonee Valley Racing Club, the 2011 Cox Plate will take place on Saturday October 23^rd.
